Maitland has a rich history that goes back to 1838 when the town was established as Fort Maitland by the U.S. Army at the height of the Seminole Wars.

It is one of Central Florida’s oldest incorporated municipalities.

Through the years, Maitland has grown from an orange-growing community to a modern city with a diverse economy.

Despite being highly urbanized, Maitland has lovingly preserved its historical roots and gorgeous natural features.
