Upcoming events in Orlando

There’s always something going on in Orlando. Live performances, festivals, parties, and marathons are just some of the eventsto look forward to.

Block out your calendar for these events:

  1. UCF-Orlando Jazz Festival
    Nicholson School of Communication Auditorium

    The UCF School of Performing Arts brings you the 9th annual UCF-Orlando Jazz Festival. Catch breathtaking performances by chart-topping jazz acts and high school bands from all over Florida. The line-up includes the Peter Bernstein Trio, The Jazz Professors, Leroy Jones Quintet, and Flying Horse Big Band.

    Promising talent from Melbourne High School and Viera High School, among others, will grace the stage. Internationally acclaimed artists will also be there to conduct jazz clinics and master classes.

    General admission is $20, but those with valid UCF student IDs may attend free of charge. Non-UCF students may avail tickets for $5. Buy tickets here.
  2. Uptown Art Expo in Altamonte Springs
    274 Cranes Roost Boulevard
    March 25 – 26, 2017

    The 5th annual Celebration of Art at Uptown Art Expo will feature a juried show of art works and fine crafts. Paintings, mosaics, pottery, glass, sculpture, jewelry, and photography by artisans will be available for display and purchase. There will also be a demo by chalk street artists.

    Stick around for the food – vendors selling international street cuisine, festival food, wine, and craft beers will be on the grounds. There will also be children’s activities and live performances by Rick Derringer and The Long Run at the Eddie Rose Amphitheater.
  3. La Noubaby Cirque du Soleil
    Disney Springs at Walt Disney World Resort
    April 1, 2017, 6:00 p.m.

    Prepare to be amazed by stunning acrobatics, elaborate sets, and colorful costumes. Disney brings you La Nouba by the highly acclaimed theater company Cirque du Soleil. Watch seasoned performers do flips, somersaults, and splits to the beat of the music.

    Highlights of the show include a B-Boy act, also known as breakdancing, and a jaw-dropping Aerial Bamboo routine inspired by a traditional Chinese art form. It’s world-class entertainment at its finest.

  4. Superhero 5K in Maitland
    The Roth Family Jewish Community Center of Greater Orlando
    851 N Maitland Avenue
    April 9, 2017
    8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

    Run, walk, or rollerblade your way through this 5k race in your fanciest superhero costume. Awards will be given to the top three runners in each category. Stay for the food trucks and post-race festivities that will take place until 12 noon.

  5. Festival of the Sea
    Orlando Festival Park

    June 17, 2017
    11:00 a.m.

    Go Party Live LLC presents the 2nd Festival of the Sea. This family event brings together some of the best seafood and arts and crafts vendors in the state. There will also be a wine and beer garden for your enjoyment. Children will have access to a designated play area.
